The 130,000 Nm³/h desulfurization and hydrogen production project of Shaanxi Dongxinyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. has entered the final commissioning and completion phase.

Our company is undertaking the construction of a semi-coke gas PSA hydrogen production unit, along with desulfurization units for desorbed gas and acidic gases, for Shaanxi Dongxinyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. This project is part of a comprehensive coal chemical utilization and circular economy initiative. The first phase of the project has a total investment of RMB 3.661 billion and is designed to produce 1.2 million tonnes per year of semi-coke, 20,000 tonnes per year of metallic magnesium, and 500,000 tonnes per year of coal tar hydrogenation products. Our company is responsible for constructing the semi-coke gas PSA hydrogen production unit and the associated desulfurization facilities for desorbed gas and acidic gases within the coal tar hydrogenation section. The processing capacity is 130,000 Nm³/h of semi-coke gas; the hydrogen production rate is 25,000 Nm³/h, with the desorbed gas, after desulfurization, being routed to the metallic magnesium production unit and the combustion furnace, yielding sulfur as a byproduct at a rate of 352 kg/h. Construction on this project commenced in May 2014. To date, the unit has completed individual equipment commissioning, process pipeline purging, and the commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, and automatic control systems, and the project has now entered the final stage of trial operation.

The key features of this catalyst are as follows: 1. It can reduce VOC concentrations from 100–10,000 ppm to below 10 ppm; 2. Its processing capacity ranges from 500 to 500,000 Nm³/h; 3. Inner Mongolia Huineng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.’s PSA project for the recovery of CH4 and H2 has entered the final commissioning stage!

Our company, Inner Mongolia Huineng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., commissioned the LNG storage tank boil-off gas PSA recovery unit for CH4 and H2 on January 18, 2015, and subsequently initiated trial operation with feedstock. Following further optimization and commissioning of the process control procedures, the unit has now entered normal operation.
