On October 22, Ren Runhou, Vice Governor of Shanxi Province, visited Shanxi Ruiyang Coalbed Methane Company for an inspection, accompanied by Zhang Qingheng, Chief Engineer of Yangmei Group, and Zhang Weixing, Assistant to the General Manager and Head of the Development Planning Department. He urged Ruiyang Coalbed Methane Company to place safety first, intensify the professional and large-scale development and utilization of coalbed methane, accelerate the “Gasification of Shanxi” initiative, and elevate coal mine gas management and coalbed methane extraction and utilization to a new level.
He also emphasized that, in the development and utilization of coalbed methane, utmost importance must be attached to safety; organizational leadership must be strengthened; management must be tightened; policies and measures must be improved; safety-related investment must be increased; research efforts and personnel training must be intensified; supporting infrastructure for coalbed methane utilization must be advanced; and safe production must be firmly ensured. In light of the realities of the coal industry, we must carefully review and summarize experience in gas control and extraction and utilization, shift our mindset, and step up the professional and large-scale development and utilization of coalbed methane, ensuring that all recoverable gas is extracted and that extraction precedes mining. At the same time, we must accelerate the “Gasification of Shanxi” initiative, strictly adhere to market mechanisms, establish a rational pricing system, foster the rapid development of the coalbed methane industry, and elevate coal mine gas control and coalbed methane extraction and utilization to a new level.
Accompanying the delegation on this research visit were officials from the provincial government and relevant provincial departments, as well as officials from Jinzhong City and Xiyang County and the Chemical Industry Administration of Yangmei Group.
According to Shanxi Ruiyang Coalbed Methane Company, on October 25, Zhao Shiping, Chairman of Yangmei Group, visited the company for an inspection and chaired a meeting. He stated that Shanxi Ruiyang Coalbed Methane Company has pioneered a new approach to the development and utilization of coalbed methane, and urged all employees to seize the opportunity to extend and strengthen the coalbed methane industry chain, making it larger and more robust. He also emphasized that the company should, in the future, expand beyond Shanxi and reach markets nationwide.
