Five Major Issues in the Application of Renewable Energy in Buildings in China

Pollution reduction will be pursued through three main avenues.

On the 16th, at the Sixth China (International) Forum on Environment and Development held here, Zhou Shengxian, Minister of Environmental Protection, stated that during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, pollution reduction efforts will be further advanced in three key areas: the selection of reduction targets, the implementation of reduction measures, and the assignment of accountability for reduction. These efforts will be integrated with the control of total emissions of major pollutants, the improvement of environmental quality, the prevention of environmental risks, and the protection of the public’s environmental rights and interests.

Localities are stepping up efforts to reduce emissions and phase out outdated production capacity.

Hangzhou, September 17 — According to a report by China National Radio’s “News and Newspaper Digest,” local authorities across the country are stepping up efforts to conserve energy and reduce emissions. In Zhejiang, several small coal-fired generating units have been demolished using controlled blasting; meanwhile, Jiangsu has announced that all 176 enterprises involved in the production, sale, and use of ozone-depleting substances have now completed phase-out or substitution.
