The 130,000 Nm³/h desulfurization and hydrogen production project of Shaanxi Dongxinyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. has entered the final commissioning and completion phase.

Our company is undertaking the construction of a semi-coke gas PSA hydrogen production unit, along with desulfurization units for desorbed gas and acidic gases, for Shaanxi Dongxinyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. This project is part of a comprehensive coal chemical utilization and circular economy initiative. The first phase of the project has a total investment of RMB 3.661 billion and is designed to produce 1.2 million tonnes per year of semi-coke, 20,000 tonnes per year of metallic magnesium, and 500,000 tonnes per year of coal tar hydrogenation products. Our company is responsible for constructing the semi-coke gas PSA hydrogen production unit and the associated desulfurization facilities for desorbed gas and acidic gases within the coal tar hydrogenation section. The processing capacity is 130,000 Nm³/h of semi-coke gas; the hydrogen production rate is 25,000 Nm³/h, with the desorbed gas, after desulfurization, being routed to the metallic magnesium production unit and the combustion furnace, yielding sulfur as a byproduct at a rate of 352 kg/h. Construction on this project commenced in May 2014. To date, the unit has completed individual equipment commissioning, process pipeline purging, and the commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, and automatic control systems, and the project has now entered the final stage of trial operation.
