The country’s first “low-concentration gas purification and LNG production” project-Shanxi Ruiyang Coalbed Methane Company’s oxygenated coalbed methane liquefaction of 50,000 tons/year of LNG, the first phase of the “low-concentration gas purification and production CNG” project was recently held in Xiyang County, Shanxi Province The Sijiazhuang Mine was successfully commissioned at one time, and all indicators met or exceeded the design standards.

It is reported that Shanxi Ruiyang CBM Co., Ltd. was established in January 2011. It was jointly invested by Shanxi Guorui New Energy Co., Ltd., Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Dakot Energy Technology Co., Ltd. A technology-based joint venture with strong alliances.

The foundation of the project was laid in Xiyang County in March 2011. The project officially started in June 2011. It is an innovative project for the development and utilization of low-concentration gas in Yangquan Coal Group and a key project in 2012 under the supervision of the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.

The total investment of the project is 210 million yuan, the first phase investment is 130 million yuan, and the total construction area is about 100,000 square meters. It is general contracted by Sichuan Dakote Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and completely adopts the special adsorbent and technical process independently developed by the company. In the first phase, the raw gas with a concentration of about 30% and a flow rate of 12,500 cubic meters/h will be enriched, deoxygenated, and denitrified to produce CNG (compressed natural gas) with a concentration of more than 95%. The flow rate of the raw gas in the second phase is 33,000 cubic meters/h. After purification and liquefaction, it is expected to produce 50,000 tons of LNG (liquefied natural gas) annually.

Since the construction of the first phase of the project, Sichuan Dakot Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Yangmei Group Co., Ltd. have attached great importance to it. Leaders have visited the site many times to guide and supervise to ensure safety, quality, construction period, and cost control. Strive for excellence in design, careful planning of investment, fine and standardized management, and construction safety and quality. After more than a year of construction, equipment installation, employee pre-job training and other work were completed on time, with quality and quantity. It ensured that the project was successfully commissioned on September 10, 2012, and it will be put into normal production now. At present, the second-phase LNG project is also under intense preparation and construction.

After the project is completed and put into production, it is estimated that the annual sales income will be 316.4 million yuan, the profit will be 144.74 million yuan, and the tax will be 81.25 million yuan. At the same time, 90.4 million cubic meters of coal-bed methane is used every year to replace coal combustion, reducing 208,000 tons of carbon dioxide, 500 tons of sulfur dioxide, 600 tons of nitrogen dioxide, and 18,300 tons of coal dust.

The completion of the project will create a precedent for the development and utilization of coal mine low-concentration gas and oxygen-containing coalbed methane. Its finished products can be widely used in industrial fuels, civil fuels, power fuels for vehicles and ships, and chemical raw materials. The market prospects are broad. It is of great significance to the adjustment of my country's energy structure, energy conservation and emission reduction. At the same time, it has created a precedent for the development and utilization of low-concentration coal mine gas in the country and the world, which is of great demonstrative significance for guiding the future direction of my country's coalbed methane development and utilization, and has significant economic and social benefits.
